Years ago the Diaspora Jewish community discovered the profound educational and spiritual impact that a carefully planned trip to Israel had on Jewish teens and young adults. Studies have clearly demonstrated that participants on these programs returned to their home communities with a heightened sense of religious identity. Organized programs to Israel exploring the roots of the participants' faith have a similar impact on Christian teens and university students.
In the Galilee, teens will hike along the Jesus Trail, beginning in Nazareth and winding down to the Sea of Galilee tracing the route Jesus may have walked, connecting many sites from his life and ministry. In Bethlehem and Jerusalem participants will visit ancient and modern historical sites such as the Church of the Nativity, tour the Christian and Jewish Quarters, and visit Yad Vashem, Israel's Holocaust Museum and Memorial. In the Judean Desert they will get a sense of the power of the "wilderness" as well as visit Qumran, the Ein Gedi Spring and float on the Dead Sea.
At different times during the program they will have the opportunity to volunteer in social action projects. They will also be given the opportunity to meet Christian & Jewish peers, to interact on the sports field or to study and discuss Scripture together.
